Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Vaqueros (18-11) in Manati on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Osos (11-17) 98-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vaqueros. Manati looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Bayamon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jameer Nelson Jr (185-2000, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dominican swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) answered with 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for Bayamon. Vaqueros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Manati moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ponce. Defending champion Bayamon still keeps top position with 11 games lost. Manati will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bayamon will play at home against the league's leader San German and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Criollos (17-10) which hosted in Caguas 4th placed Mets (12-14). Second ranked Criollos had an easy win 104-89. It was a great evening for American forward Louis King (201-1999, college: Oregon) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Alexander Kappos helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Criollos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Brandon Knight (190-1991, college: Kentucky) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Caguas maintains second place with 17-10 record behind leader San German. Guaynabo lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Santurce. Caguas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guaynabo will play at home against Santurce (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Atleticos (20-9) which played road game in Carolina against 3rd placed Gigantes (15-11). First ranked Atleticos managed to get a 4-point victory 93-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gigantes. It was an exceptional evening for Montrezl Harrell who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Tremont Waters came up with 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists for Carolina in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Atleticos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. San German maintains first place with 20-9 record. Carolina at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. San German will meet league's leader Bayamon on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Carolina will play against Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 23: Mayaguez was beaten by Santurce on the road 98-93. Arecibo lost to Aguada on its own court 90-99. Caguas unfortunately lost to San German in a road game 90-100.
The most impressive performance of 23th round was 24 points and 12 rebounds by Moses Brown of Caguas.




Caguas - Guaynabo 104-89

An interesting game for Criollos (17-10) which hosted in Caguas 4th placed Mets (12-14). Second ranked Criollos had an easy win 104-89. Caguas dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Mets's 48. Caguas outrebounded Guaynabo 42-24 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Caguas players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Louis King (201-1999, college: Oregon) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. International power forward Alexander Kappos (208-1997, college: Dalhousie) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. An interesting game for Atleticos (20-9) which played road game in Carolina against 3rd placed Gigantes (15-11). First ranked Atleticos managed to get a 4-point victory 93-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gigantes. San German dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes's 34. San German looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Montrezl Harrell (203-1994, college: Louisville) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). ex-international guard Christian Pizarro (180-1995, college: Miami Dade CC) accounted for 12 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Atleticos players scored in double figures. There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Cangrejeros (12-14) beat their close opponent Indios (10-16) in Santurce 98-93 on Thursday. Santurce made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 assists. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American point guard Eugene German (183-1997, college: NIU) came up with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and New Zealand center Tyrell Harrison (214-1999) added 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) respectively for Mayaguez in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Santurce moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guaynabo. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-ranked Capitanes (14-11) lost to third ranked Santeros (13-13) in Arecibo 90-99 on Thursday. Aguada shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard John Jenkins (193-1991, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Slash Sports) who led the winners and scored 27 points. His fellow American import swingman Manny Camper (201-1999, college: Siena) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five Santeros players scored in double figures. Brazilian-American center Tim Soares (211-1997, college: Master's) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and ex-international Alfonso Plummer (185-1997, college: Illinois) added 22 points and 10 assists respectively for Arecibo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aguada maintains third place with 13-13 record having eight points less than leader San German. Arecibo lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the second position with 11 games lost. Aguada will meet at home Guaynabo (#4) in the next round. Arecibo will play against Quebradillas and hope to secure a win.
